INSTRUCTION


PROJECT 1 - AUDIO EDITING EXERCISE
This project is an audio editing exercise. We were divided into two groups and we have to choose one person to be the director and decide two person to be the two characters.

Therefore, we have another exercise which is sound shaping. We have to go though the recorded video that is provide in google classroom and work in the sound shaping exercise.

We have to edit it into :
  1. voice of phone call
  2. muffled voice
  3. voice from a stadium
  4. voice of bathroom/toilet
  5. underground cave

At the final week, the audio editing exercise 3 was given which is to come out with an alien sound, explosion and triple punches.

The four important sound design techniques are :

  • Time stretching / compression
  • Pitch shifting
  • Reversing
  • Layering
The slides and the audio file are provided in classroom, we have to watch the YouTube video and do the sound design exercise.

The final outcome of sound design exercise :

REFLECTION
From the first time I do audio editing exercise, it sounds terrible and the software looks very complicated as I think it would be very hard and confused. But after trying the first and second exercises, it changes my mind. It won't be a problem after you get familiar with it and understand how does it function. Overall, I was having fun with this exercises and really enjoy the progress of editing the sound. I felt satisfied when I came out with my own edited sound. However, I think this is a very important part for creating a video with a good sound because the sound help to improve quality of the video. I hope what I have learned from this module can help to improve my ability of design in my future,
