INSTRUCTION

PROPOSAL - DIET PILLS

We form a group with 5 persons and work together to come out with maximum 3 minutes animated video. Firstly, we have to decide to choose either misinformation or disinformation and come out with a topic. All of us have different ideas for the topic and we finally decided to go with "diet pills".

NARRATIVE ACT ESSAY

After we got the approval from both lectures, we proceed to the next time which is to come our with narrative act. We create a document to throw all our ideas into it and then summarize it in paragraphs. However, Mr Shamsul said it has to be more details. So we added the sketches of the scenes and the typefaces for title and description. After we finalized the essays, one of our group member use the essay and come out with the scripts for us to record our voices for the video.

After the discussion, we have aa small group meeting for distribute the work evenly, two people in charge of illustration and two more in charge of animation. There is one more person will be doing the narrative as well as auditions.

Therefore, we come out with the first draft of our animation video and get some feedbacks from Mr Shamsul. Then, we proceed to the next step and make some changes for the scenes by the suggestions given by Mr Shamsul.

Then, Shin Tung and Jia Yee start working on the assets since they are in charge of illustration. Followed by me and Xin Yee, animating the assets in After Effects. I animating the second part of the video which is scene 6 to conclusion and then compile both parts into one mp4 video. However, our groupmate suggest to add a "thank you" at the end and add credits. So I added everything in and make a simple animation on it since it is a list of names. Lastly, Syara will be in charge of sound design and narrative. She added background music and gathered our voice recordings and add it into the video.

FEEDBACK :

Week 1 :

Our group has to decide to go with one topic either misinformation or disinformation. 

Week 2 :

We got approval from Mr Shamsul for our topic and we can proceed to prepare our proposal and try to make all the information clear and interesting in the slides. 

Week 3 :

We start to proceed to narrative act. The storyboard was a bit rough and we need to be m\more details to list everything out such as target audience, visual style, type of fonts and so on.

Week 4 : 

Mr Shamsul suggest us to reduce/remove the crowd voice and the character's sound is a bit soft. Them, add intermission between scene 2 and 3. Lastly, the last scene could be improve.

Week 5 :

Our illustration style seems different we have to make it looks synchrony. Besides that, our typography also need to change as our title looks formal and sub title looks descriptive.

Week 7 :

Our graphic style has been improved. However, we might look for the social media logo to make sure the colours are accurate with the original logo and to improve the artwork of the pills at the end of the video.

REFLECTION

At first, we was very excited to work with this group as I felt that my groupmates are friendly and passionate person. During the first class, I was a bit confused about what is misinformation and disinformation. However, our groupmate were willing to help each other and giving some explanation for us. 

Therefore, we have to decide to go with which idea as we all are giving many ideas for the topic. At the end, we decided to go with diet pills which everyone agree this is a good topic we could work for. I do not have much understanding about diet pills but after doing research and working with each other, I realized that I have learn many new things especially knowledge and have a deeper understanding on diet pills.  

I am glad to work with this group as everyone is being effective and willing to help as much as they can. Moreover, I also very thankful we have a great leader in our group that always remind us to get our work done before the deadline. I believe that everything goes well and we all can get a goof result for this module.
